As a longstanding leader in cancer care treatment, Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK)  built its new outpatient facility as the model for cancer care in the 21st century. Recognizing design and technology as central to achieving that goal, Memorial Sloan Kettering assembled an accomplished team of professionals to develop, design, and build the leading and largest freestanding patient centric cancer care center in New York City.  The 25-story David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is LEED Gold-certified.

The 750,000 sf facility includes 231 exam rooms, 110 infusion rooms, 37 procedure rooms, and 16 inpatient beds. The facility will receive an average of 1,300 patients every day.  The building has been designed to reduce energy consumption and operate at optimal efficiency. Adco was pleased to be a trade partner working for Turner Construction, a leader in the healthcare sector. Adco provided pre-construction, BIM, procurement, pre-fabrication, construction and commissioning for all base building electrical systems for this high performance building including two roof top generators supporting all medical equipment including linacs, cat scans and MRIs. The building design incorporates strategies to protect the facility against a 500-year flood, including floodgates at every vulnerable entrance, above-flood elevation mechanical equipment, rooftop energy cogeneration plant, and a 25,000-gallon basement-level fuel tank protected by a submarine-style entrance and exit. This was done in response to SuperStorm Sandy and MSKs commitment to continuous patient care.

The MSK Client Team includes , Ennead Architects with Perkins Eastman;  Jaros Baum & Bolles(JB&B) Electrical Engineers and Turner Construction, Construction Manager.
