At Adco, we empower our employees to build and maintain a diverse, ethical workplace and continuously improve the ways in which we do business. As a certified Women-owned Business Enterprise, this goal serves as a core-commitment to our company culture and informs our practices and partnerships. We work closely with Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) to help recruit, train, and place women in careers in the unionized construction industry, providing access to the middle class. Adco leadership has been well represented on the board of NEW in excess of two decades by both Gina Addeo and Susan Hayes. Most recently our firm is represented by Catherine Moss as a NEW Board Member serving  on the Executive Committee.

There has been no greater success for women coming through the pre-apprentice training program at NEW than with IBEW Local #3. This union has the highest placement success rate for long-term employment for NEW graduates. We recently celebrated the success of the program at a NEW luncheon with our Adco IBEW local#3 tradeswomen who came through the program and are highly skilled union electricians working for the company.
